Seven Years War 1756-1763. Military art prints showing the British army, commanded by General Lord Amhurst, during the Seven years war campaigns in the Americas, winning the Battles of Louisberg and Quebec against the French.

Siege of Louisburg, Canada, July 1758 by David Rowlands   Battle of Louisburg during the French and Indian Wars,  A British Force set out to capture the French Fortress of Louisburg at Cape Breton island. A Army of New Englanders under the command of Col. William Pepperell supported by an English Fleet under Commander  Peter Warren.  Attacked the Fortress of Louisburg on April 30th 1745 and finally captured the fortress on June 17th.  A great British Victory which endangered  the French position in North America.   The fortifications were handed back to France in 1748 in the treaty of Aix-La-Chapelle.

The Battle of Quebec, 13th September 1759 by David Rowlands  Battle of Quebec 13th September 1759 was Wolfe's final attempt to take the city. His army scaled the cliffs from Wolfe's cove and fought the French army which was larger than Wolfe's on the Plains of Abraham. During this battle General Wolfe was hit twice  and eventually mortally wounded when a bullet passed through his lungs. As he lay dying he heard someone shout "They run - see how they run" Wolfe gave his last order to cut of the enemies retreat and his last words being "Now God be praised. Death of General Montgomery at Quebec by John Trumble.

During the Battle of Quebec, Montgomery personally led the march to the lower town, arriving att 6:00 a.m. Montgomery led the advance force through the sawn opening in the palasad. leading the troops toward to the large blockhouse down the road, encouraging the men by drawing his sword and shouting, Come on, my good soldiers, your General calls upon you to come on. When the Americans were close, the British forces in the blockhouse (a contingent of 30 Canadian militia and some seamen) opened fire with cannon, musket, and grapeshot. Montgomery was killed with grapeshot through the head and both thighs. Other officers killed in this hail of fire were Captains John Macpherson and Jacob Cheesman.
